This is the most important core activity of the Sabha. As is well-known the Sabha has formulated and implemented all-inclusive Free Educational Assistance Scheme under which economically deserving students are supported and encouraged to pursue their education from primary level to graduation by extending full financial assistance to such needy students. Launched in 1997-98, the Scheme has become popular over the years and as on 31.3.2019 the aggregate assistance disbursed amounted to Rs.7.98 lakhs to total 43 students as against Rs.8.06 lakhs to 51 students during 2017-18. Sabha expresses heartfelt thanks to all munificent donors. Every year cheques are drawn in individual names of the students or in the names of their parents and distributed through the hands of certain distinguished persons.

Apart from this, with a view to encouraging the students to perform better in their academic carrier and inculcate in them competitive spirit sabha has been awarding merit prizes and certificates of recognition to outstanding students from primary level to graduation level. Further, to bring out inherent talents among students in other fields such as awards are also given for their performance in drawing, essay writing etc. by arranging separate competitive tests by the sabha. All such merit prizes and certificates both in academic and other fields are awarded at the Annual Get-together on 25th Dec. every year through our Esteemed guests from various socio-economic
fields specially invited for this purpose. Further, in addition to awarding prizes to all distinction holders (1st and 2nd) in every standard at school level and in every stream at college level, sabha also gives merit prizes to those students who have scored 80% and above in S.S.C.

Examination and in courses equivalent thereto apart from certain cash prizes to highest scorers in S.S.C. specially sponsored by certain generous members of our community. Last year for the academic year 2017-2018 such merit awards were given through our special invitees viz Shri. Venkatesh Hegde-Chief Guest, Shri. Yeshwant Kamath, Dr. Chandreshekhar Shenoy, Ms. Usha Prabhu, Shri Ganesh Divekar during the Annual Get-together held on 25.12.2018. We request all our members to donate generously toward this noble Education Assistance Scheme so as to strengthen the hands of the Sabha to cover more and more deserving students under the Scheme in the years to come.
